Blowdown recovery
Recover hydrocarbons from blowdown streams to support flare and emissions reduction.
Back to all process packagesPURPOSE & OPERATION
What the package does
Blowdown recovery captures useful hydrocarbons from defined blowdown or vent-gas streams instead of directing the entire stream to flare. The objective is to support resource recovery and reduce flaring, with the package matched to the source stream and its intended recovery destination.
ENGINEERING & INTEGRATION
How it fits your facility
The engineering basis establishes the stream composition, operating pressure, flow behaviour and receiving-system constraints. Control and safeguarding interfaces are coordinated with the facility’s blowdown philosophy. Recovery expectations are assessed against the actual operating profile and selected package arrangement.
Typical applications
- Compressor blowdown
- Flare reduction
- Vent gas recovery
Package considerations
- Hydrocarbon recovery
- Integrated control
- Process-specific configuration
Design inputs to prepare
- Blowdown flow and composition
- Operating pressure
- Recovery and discharge requirements
The final process configuration, materials, design codes and performance requirements are established against the agreed design basis and client specification.
