GAS PROCESSING & TREATMENT
MEG & TEG regeneration
Regenerate rich glycol for reliable dehydration and reuse in the process.
Back to all process packagesPURPOSE & OPERATION
What the package does
Regeneration removes water and manages contaminants in rich glycol so that lean glycol can return to service. TEG is used in gas dehydration, while MEG is associated with hydrate inhibition. The package configuration therefore depends on the glycol type and its duty within the wider process.
ENGINEERING & INTEGRATION
How it fits your facility
The treatment train can combine flashing, filtration, heating and regeneration, followed by lean glycol cooling and circulation. Lean/rich heat exchange supports energy recovery. The required lean glycol purity, circulation rate, heating medium and any salt-management requirement are considered when defining the package.
Typical process sequence
- Rich glycol inlet
- Flash drum
- Particle & carbon filtration
- Regeneration / reboiler
- Lean glycol cooling & pumps
Illustrative sequence; final equipment and routing follow the agreed process design.
Typical applications
- Gas dehydration
- Glycol recovery
- Continuous process operation
Package considerations
- Regeneration and circulation
- Heating and process control
- Skid-mounted configuration
Design inputs to prepare
- Glycol type and circulation rate
- Feed composition
- Lean glycol specification
The final process configuration, materials, design codes and performance requirements are established against the agreed design basis and client specification.
