WATER & ENVIRONMENT
Produced water treatment
Separate oil and solids from produced water for the specified discharge or reinjection duty.
Back to all process packagesPURPOSE & OPERATION
What the package does
Produced water treatment separates oil and suspended solids from water recovered during production. The treatment train is selected around the required discharge or reinjection specification and can include primary separation, flotation and media polishing.
ENGINEERING & INTEGRATION
How it fits your facility
Engineering considers water flow and chemistry, inlet oil-in-water concentration, suspended solids and the outlet acceptance criteria. Recovered oil handling, filter backwash, available plot space and the destination of treated water are defined with the facility. The final configuration is matched to the inlet conditions and required treatment duty.
Typical process sequence
- Produced water inlet
- Hydrocyclone / skim tank
- Induced gas flotation
- Media polishing
- Discharge or reinjection
Illustrative sequence; final equipment and routing follow the agreed process design.
Typical applications
- Water reinjection
- Onshore disposal
- Discharge treatment
Package considerations
- Multi-stage oil removal
- Flotation and filtration options
- Media polishing
Design inputs to prepare
- Water flow and chemistry
- Inlet oil-in-water and suspended solids
- Outlet specification
The final process configuration, materials, design codes and performance requirements are established against the agreed design basis and client specification.
